Loma-Väkkärä cottages

Our six high quality cottages offer everything you need for a relaxing holiday - they are well equipped, situated amidst peaceful natural surroundings, own beach, rowing boat... Made out of solid logs, they also feel like genuine cottages. The carefully designed and functional interiors combined with high quality materials add a touch of luxury. Three of the kitchens feature granite countertops.

Our cottages do not form a holiday village; instead they are located in pairs in Suomenniemi, Savitapale and Ristiina. Even larger groups can be accommodated in this way: The cottages "Lokkero" and "Nuottakallio" are situated 500 metres apart and can sleep up to 16 guests. "Kalastajan torppa I" and "Kalastajan torppa II" are situated 60 metres apart and can sleep up to 12 guests. "Vasikkahaka" and "Syväjärvi" are one kilometre from each other, and together they can accommodate up to 16 guests.

Each cottage has its own quiet beach no more than 30 metres from the front door. A rowing boat is included in the price. When booking your holiday, remember to tell us what size lifejackets you require and we will deliver them to your cottage. We also rent 5-20 hp motorboats for experienced boaters.

Each cottage has its own wood-heated or electric sauna. The sauna, firewood and logs for grilling are all included in the price. A small old sauna is situated 60 metres from the "Lokkero" cottage and can usually be used by guests. At "Syväjärvi" there is a traditional smoke sauna that can be specially heated up for guests (see price list).

All cottages have their own covered grilling area with a purpose-built fireplace in the middle. The shelters have large windows, making it possible to grill sausages and pancakes even on rainy days. Tools for blazing and smoking fish are included.

We value local craftsmanship, the environment and Finnish quality

The log construction of our cottages offers excellent indoor air quality. The logs were sourced from the land cleared for the cottages and the surrounding forests, and they were crafted by hand. The cottages "Kalastajan torppa I" and "Kalastajan torppa II" are the only exceptions, as they were supplied by the company Rantasalmi and constructed from special windproof eco-logs with ecological insulation.

We have made it easy for our guests to sort their own waste. For example, each cottage has its own compost heap to which biowaste can be added. Bottles and cans are recycled.

We want to support local work and products. The wonderful textiles in the cottages, such as the rugs, have been made by local artisans. The sheets and towels are also made in Finland. When furnishing our cottages, we try to ensure that everything - from tableware to furniture - is Finnish made.
